CELTIC FROST Working On 'Amazing' New Album
July 4, 2005CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:
"So many things are taking place here during the making of this album. Far too many things to list here, I often believe, even though this blog has been established to be utterly open and to provide a direct link into part of our world for those who care about the idea that is CELTIC FROST. And now I find myself wondering so often what to post here — and whether to post it — of all the occurrences, mental, actual, and otherwise, which happen upon us these months. Indeed, it has been years. This is not supposed to be a journal of whine or complaint, after all. But in order to be open and honest, how far should this record of disclosure go?
"In brief, these past few days have proven once again that it is far from simple, let alone easy, to be in CELTIC FROST and to admit that we are in the process of recording a new, momentous, album. And momentous it will be, no matter how it will be perceived and no matter to what extent our emotions will connect or fail to connect to those of our audience and critics.
"There are numerous impediments on the path to completion of this album, both personal and professional. Recent months have seen plenty of both. Not least that three of us have seen private relationships collapse, their harbours from this fascinating yet at the same time ravaging tempest, due to reasons at the very least remotely connected to the existence of this group. There has been plenty of darkness and — just days ago — a severe case of erosion of professional confidence in a closely affiliated third party.
"More is to come.
"It will make for an amazing album."
As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on June 16, CELTIC FROST have selected HYPOCRISY/PAIN mainman Peter Tägtgren to co-produce their long-awaited comeback effort, tentatively titled "Dark Matter Manifest".
